The day has gone, the night will come. The sun is setting, waiting for the twenty-fifth day of the month. Many know the day of the twenty-fifth, not all. Arkeseli, a young black wolf, not even one yet, doesn't know what happens on the twenty-fifth. Kaynyne, his guardian, an anthropomorphic wolf, knows. He decided not to tell him, hoping the 'hints' around the public would tell him. Sadly, it didn't.

Kaynyne put on his trench coat, sleek black. "Yo, Seli," he yelled out. Seli's head popped out behind the couch, his large red eyes shining from the light turned on. "Imma leave for a while, gonna find something… Uh…want to stroll around…or…?" Arkeseli nodded and left from the couch, leaving to the streets. Once they left the house in the city, they turned to each other. "I'll be back in about an hour or so… 'find you later when I get back."

"Okay," Arkeseli responded. "Bye." Kaynyne nodded and left one way, Arkeseli left another way.

Arkeseli looked around at the stores open, seeing the lights put up, varying colors from red to purple… Some of the people were wearing red caps with large white ends and balls on each of them. He could have guessed many things, but not find an answer.

He walked up to a woman with a dark tan tail, long, skinny, but furry. He touched the woman's furry leg. "H-hey," he started. The woman looked down then later kneeled down. She seemed to be a cougar.

"Yes?" she asked.

"W-what's all this about?" Arkeseli asked, looking around.

"Oh, you don't know?" Arkeseli nodded. "Tonight's Christmas Eve!"

"Christmas…Eve?" he asked, tilting his head.

"Yes, Christmas Eve, the day before Christmas."

"Um… What's Christmas?"

"I can tell you many things about it; but in general, Christmas is about giving and thanking for those you care about."

"Oh, okay." He walked a few steps before stopping to look back. "Thank you." He said.

"You're welcome!" she responded, "Merry Christmas!" Arkeseli walked out to the end of the city, to its highest point.

He turned around, looking at the view of the city. Nearly everything was lit up with clear or colorful colors, never seeing anything like in his life. The trees in front that lead up to the forest were even covered in lights. As much he liked to see the view forever, he wondered about his mother.

Would they have ever seen this with his mother?

He remembered back when his mother was with him, playing with him, enjoying what they could do. If only he didn't kill my mother… Arkeseli thought He couldn't finish his thought. He couldn't hold back his tears, dropping down. Although he knows that Kaynyne, his "underage" guardian of fifteen, is there for his sake (and not exactly the "best" to love for), he can never forget his mother that has been with him for half of his current life.

He looked up at the sky, nothing but black. Time has gone by quick, not knowing how long he's been strolling. I guess it's time to go back he thought.

Walking back, he noticed more people had come outside, most with jackets on. He noticed something white on the road falling down. He looked up, seeing white dots coming down. He wondered what it was.

"Snow," he heard someone say. This is snow? Arkeseli wondered. He watched as one of the flakes fall down, making no sound coming down. He touched the snow that fell, noticing his paw became wet. Is this just water? He wondered.

"Arkeseli!" someone shouted. Arkeseli looked around, seeing Kaynyne. He walked over to his guardian seeing his green eyes shine from the lights. "C'mon," Kaynyne said lowly, "You seem to have a lot in your mind…"

Back home, Arkeseli looked out at the window, seeing the so-called snow outside.
"Seli," Kaynyne said. Arkeseli looked back at him. "Come here." Arkeseli walked over to Kaynyne, wondering what he could say. "When I was walking around, I bought this." It was a two-inch black bracelet. Arkeseli looked at it, not knowing what it was for. "Christmas is a time for giving." He put on the bracelet on Arkeseli's right leg. "Merry Christmas," Kaynyne said.

Arkeseli jumped up to Kaynyne, cuddling up to him for the first night of Arkeseli's first Christmas.
A Christmas story of Arkeseli.

I wrote this for extra cred for English. Not sure how this went for the credit...
